WHAT TO EXPECT
Lymphatic massage is a light, rhythmic, manual therapy that uses a specific stretch-and-release skin technique. Clients become very relaxed during their treatments, feeling a sense of calm and relaxation that normally occurs with other types of massage - even when very tender from current surgical procedures.
SURGICAL CARE LYMPHATIC MASSAGES
Pre-Surgical Lymphatic Massage
One to three sessions are recommended 14-2 days before surgery. Lymphatic Massage is helpful in preparing the body for surgery by clearing any stagnant toxins and waste that may be at or around the surgical sites.
Benefits may include reduced edema and swelling, stimulation of the immune system, increased relation and prevention of infection.
As a holistic lymphatic therapist, Paige may also make recommendations for you to integrate into your home-care protocol to assist with your healing.
Post-Surgical Lymphatic Massage
Begin receiving lymphatic massages as early as 10 days after surgery. Treatments are best spaced 3-10 days from each other and minimum of 4 sessions is recommended.
Beneficial after plastic surgery, liposuction, non-invasive laser and after breast reconstruction. It helps speed up recovery time, decrease swelling & bruising, prevent infection, alleviate pain, and minimize scarring & hardening.
